NGEMC’s 89th Annual Meeting


August 8, 2025

DALTON, Ga. — North Georgia Electric Membership Corporation (NGEMC) brought members from across its seven-county service area together for a series of district meetings and hosted its 2025 Annual Meeting online to connect with members.

This year’s meeting, held on Thursday, Aug. 7, was the 89th Annual Meeting for NGEMC, which was founded in 1936. The business meeting was pre-recorded and is available now on the cooperative’s website, www.ngemc.com. The online format is intended to give as many NGEMC members as possible the opportunity to participate in the governance of the cooperative.

Members re-elected sole nominees Jason Parker (District 2) and John Howard (District 4) to the NGEMC Board of Directors and received reports of the cooperative’s operational and financial status.

Members had the opportunity to register online or in-person at district meetings held in Calhoun, Chatsworth, Dalton, Rock Spring, and Fort Oglethorpe. The 274 members plus guests who attended an in-person meeting had the opportunity to learn more about energy efficiency, the NGEMC vegetation management program, and ask questions of the co-op’s leadership while enjoying lunch. An additional 3,460 members registered online for a total of 3,734 members participating in the business meeting.

The cooperative’s fiscal year report included the distribution of over 2.5 billion kilowatt-hours of energy; investment of $34 million in the electric system and equipment for increased reliability; service to more than 107,000 meters; engineering of 6,674 system improvements and new services; installation of 4,951 poles; and maintenance and operation of 35 substations and more than 6,600 miles of line.

NGEMC is a consumer-owned, not-for-profit cooperative providing electricity to members in Catoosa, Chattooga, Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Walker and Whitfield counties. North Georgia EMC is an equal-opportunity provider and employer.
