High school seniors who reside on NGEMC lines are eligible for the $2,500 NGEMC Chairman’s Memorial Scholarship, named in memory of NGEMC Chairmen Howard Baker and Gerald Lowery.
NGEMC awards one scholarship to a student from each of the seven counties it serves. Additionally, two at large scholarships were awarded in 2022 in lieu of the Washington Youth Tour program. The Northwest Georgia Community Foundation assists NGEMC in presenting the scholarship by selecting recipients from the pool of applicants.
Winners include Alexis Bramblett, Calhoun High School graduate; Kathryn Brook, Calhoun High School graduate; Makayla Downs, Armuchee High School graduate; Elise Hayen, Heritage High School graduate; Erin Higgins, Christian Heritage High School graduate; Drew Patton, Northwest Whitfield High School graduate; Sarah Ridley, Murray County High School graduate; Landon Stephens, Chattooga High School graduate; and Kilie Wilson, Gordon Lee Memorial High School graduate.
