High school seniors who reside on NGEMC lines are eligible for the $2,500 NGEMC Chairman’s Memorial Scholarship, named in memory of NGEMC Chairmen Howard Baker and Gerald Lowery.
NGEMC awards one scholarship to a student from each of the seven counties it serves. Additionally, in 2021 two at large scholarships were awarded in lieu of the Washington Youth Tour program. The Northwest Georgia Community Foundation assists NGEMC in presenting the scholarship by selecting recipients from the pool of applicants.
Winners include Virginia Baltzer, Oakwood Christian Academy graduate; Haven Savana Evans, Trion High
School graduate; Gavin McClellan, Armuchee High School graduate; Andrew Barber, Calhoun High School graduate; Abigail Crowe, Calhoun High School graduate; Madeline Skojac, North Murray High School graduate; Bailey Stoker, Ridgeland High School graduate Alexandria Defalco, Cohulla Creek High School graduate; and Ryan Hulsey, Northwest Whitfield High School graduate.
