8:45 a.m. update:
313 members remain without power in 8 separate outages. Our crews have worked hard throughout the night and the restoration effort to our hardest-hit areas continues this morning.
The area south of Rossville was the hardest hit, with up to 13 broken poles, trees down, broken cross arms, and spans of downed wire. Many thanks to Amicalola EMC and our contractors for sending in extra crews to assist in the restoration. This storm caused extensive damage in a little over an hour, but our line workers have helped to restore more than 14,200 members and 110+ outages in 16 hours, most of which were restored under the dark of night. We are very thankful to these line workers, who remain hard at work to restore the members who remain without power this morning.
12:30 a.m. update: 3,084 members remain without power in 92 separate outage events. Crews remain in the field and will continue working around the clock until all power is restored.
ETOR notes: As soon as the crew is able to arrive on the scene of an outage, inspect the damage, and assign an estimated time of restoration (ETOR), it will automatically be added to our live outage map at https://www2.ngemc.com/. For members with medical needs, we recommend having a plan in place to move to a facility with power, if the need arises. Please visit the hospital or call 911 if you need urgent medical assistance. We apologize for the inconvenience.
