Phone Fraud in NGEMC Service Area

NGEMC has received a report that several of our members have been targeted with a phone call demanding immediate payment on the bill or they would be faced with an immediate cut-off.

If you receive a call such as this, the best course of action would be to end the call and check your account online through NGEMC’s website, or to contact an NGEMC Member Services Representative to verify your account balance by dialing one of the phone numbers listed on our website.

Space Heater Safety

Space heaters are a leading cause of house fires during the Winter. Take these important safety precautions when using them.

  • Only use heaters listed by a recognized testing laboratory.
  • Place your space heater on a level, non-flammable surface away from furniture, drapes, rugs, etc..
  • Make sure your space heater has an auto shutoff function.
  • Never pair your space heater with an extension cord.
  • Never leave a space heater unattended when in use.
  • Purchase space heaters that are cool to the touch.

Dial before you dig.

If any of your fall projects require digging––such as planting trees or shrubs, or setting posts––remember to dial 811 first!

Back to School with ORU

NGEMC's Operation Round Up program is committed to our schools. Each year, through the generosity of our members who participate in ORU, over $100,000 is given to the schools in the form of STEM grants to support local school efforts/needs in the seven counties NGEMC serves. Truly knowledge is POWER!
